1 Counting words by hand
You can count them by separating by spaces, but it is slow and error-prone. The most reliable way is to use a tool that counts automatically.
2 How many words per page
A normal page (A4, 12pt font, single spacing) usually contains between 400 and 500 words. With double spacing, about 250-300.
