How to Calculate Unemployment Benefits in Spain

Learn how to calculate your unemployment benefit: duration, percentage based on regulatory base and how much you will receive per month.

Unemployment benefit depends on days contributed and your regulatory base. In this guide we explain the duration scale, the percentages applied (70% and 60%) and how to calculate how much you will receive.

1 Check your contributed days

You need at least 360 days contributed in the last 6 years to be entitled to the benefit. The more days, the more months of benefit.

2 The duration scale

360 days gives 4 months; 720 days, 8 months; 1,080 days, 12 months; and the maximum of 2,160 days (6 years) gives 24 months of benefit.

3 The percentage based on time

For the first 6 months you receive 70% of your daily regulatory base. From the seventh month, 60%.

4 Use the calculator

Enter your contributed days and daily regulatory base in the unemployment calculator to get the duration, daily amount and total benefit.
