At ToolBox we are committed to offering accurate and reliable tools. This page explains how results are calculated, how formulas are verified and how the tools are kept up to date.
1. How results are calculated
Each tool implements a clear, well-known mathematical formula or algorithm. For example, the percentage uses the standard definition (part = percentage × total ÷ 100) and the rule of three uses the formula X = (B × C) ÷ A.
2. How formulas are verified
The formulas are checked against known reference values. For example, the MD5 hash is verified with the RFC 1321 standard test vectors and SHA-256 with NIST vectors. Converters use standard international conversion factors.
3. Automated tests
Each important tool includes automated tests covering normal cases, boundary values and invalid values. These tests run on every build to ensure everything keeps working correctly after any change.
4. How the tools are updated
The tools and their content are reviewed periodically. When an improvement is introduced or something is fixed, the corresponding page is updated along with its review date.
5. Local processing and privacy
All tools process data in your browser. No data is sent to our own servers, which guarantees both privacy and that results depend only on your input and the applied formula.
6. Limitations
The tools are offered for informational and assistance purposes. For important financial, tax, legal or medical decisions, we always recommend consulting a qualified professional.
