How to calculate your net salary in Spain

Calculating net salary from gross means deducting Social Security contributions (6.50%) and Income Tax (IRPF). This calculator applies the current state IRPF scale and the standard personal minimum for an employee without children.

What is deducted from gross salary

Two main deductions are taken from your gross salary: the employee Social Security contribution (currently 6.50% of the contribution base) and IRPF, a progressive tax with brackets from 9.50% to 24.50% depending on taxable income.

IRPF brackets

State brackets are: up to €12,450 → 9.50%; €12,450-€20,200 → 12%; €20,200-€35,200 → 15%; €35,200-€60,000 → 18.50%; €60,000-€300,000 → 22.50%; over €300,000 → 24.50%. Each bracket only taxes the portion of income that falls within it.

Limitations

This calculator uses the state IRPF scale without regional adjustment. The actual tax may vary depending on your autonomous community, extra pay, salary supplements and disability or special circumstances reductions. For an exact calculation, consult a tax advisor.
